Finished my second listen of this phenomenal book today.
Itās funny because this book was published in March of 2016 yet accurately predicts Uber becoming a dominant force in hyperlocal advertising, which weāve been featuring a lot of news about recently with their addition of video ads to the apps and their commitment to digital toppers on their cars.
The reality is that platform businesses beat pipeline businesses in every single industry and are particularly well suited for facilitating fragmented markets with specialized gatekeepers.
Like AI, how can your business become a platform? Can you serve your existing customers with more services or offerings or facilitate the breaking down of wall gardens by aggregating what has been traditionally held by specialized gate keepers.
